Editor’s Note: Operated by the American Sportfishing Association, the ICAST show is the top tackle and fishing show in America and annually draws the top names and products in the industry. Kayak Fish will be at the show and will offer continuous coverage all week on the best of the new fishing tackle and, of course, fishing kayaks and accessories.

With ICAST activities kicking off Tuesday (July 12) with the Birdies and Bass Tournament followed closely by the New Products Showcase Reception that evening, sportfishing industry buyers, manufacturers and media can expect to see lots of great new kayaks and related accessories on the floors of the Orlando Convention Center the rest of the week. Let’s just say they’ll be pedaling their wares, at least if an early news release from Confluence Outdoor is any indication.
Leading the way for the Confluence Outdoor new products debuting at ICAST is the Wilderness Systems Helix PD Pedal Drive, a new sleek, high performance, patent-pending pedal drive that Wilderness Systems says is the most efficient and intuitive pedal system ever engineered.
For those kayakers tired of the bigger is better trend, Wilderness Systems has downsized its popular ATAK 140 and is introducing the ATAK 120, a 12-foot version of its award-winning predecessor.
Another intriguing new product is Radar, a “truly unique new tri-powered kayak” that features an open, stable design and maneuverability. At ICAST, Wilderness Systems is unveiling the Limited Edition Radar 115 tri-powered kayak, which will come outfitted with a select accessories package.
In addition, Wildnerness Systems continues to grow its line of accessories, and will be showcasing customizable options including new kayak storage systems and electronic support tools.
Last, but not least (except, perhaps, price-wise) Perception is presenting the Pescador Pilot at ICAST. The Pescador Pilot may be the first pedal drive performance kayak to be offered at a budget-friendly price point. We’ll see. Stay tuned for lots more from the show.
