Eddyline Kayaks’ Ethan Ebersold runs through the Washington manufacturers’ new three-boat light touring Sitka line from the floor of this summer’s Paddlesports Retailer trade show. The boat series, as Ebersold explains, is perfect for fitness paddling during the week and capable of packing enough overnight gear for a weekend expedition while keeping up with “friends in longer boats at conversational speeds.” The horizon-expanding, deep-water capable line of thermoform kayaks is available in three sizes: the 13-foot-9-inch, 43-lb. Sitka ST (formerly the Samba); the new, mid-size 14.5-foot, 47-pound Sitka LT; and the larger 15-foot-3, 50-lb. Sitka XT (formerly the Denali). Beyond the retractable skeg and well-placed hatches, outfitting extras extend padding from seat bottom to hip pads and thigh braces, with adjustable, sliding seats and backrest.
